Teaching
I am currently teaching an MSc and undergraduate course in audio technology at the University of Bristol.
Research
I finished my PhD in 2002. The subject of my thesis was image segmentation together with bits of data fusion and content based retrieval.
Since then I have been mostly working on video compression algorithms, specifically H.264 and the next generation of video compression. I also have been supervising various students on their audio projects.
Besides video compression, my other current research interests include: Complex wavelets (for compression and analysis), independent component analysis (for audio separation problems), image and video fusion techniques and some remaining issues surrounding the segmentation algorithms I have developed.

I will get around to putting all of my papers on this webpage before too long, but here are a selection.
